More than three hundred years ago, Leibniz wrote that one day two philosophers would have no more need to argue than two accountants do. The philosophers would take up their pens, sit down at the counting board and say to each other: calculemus. He built a machine that could multiply and divide. It could not read a letter, let alone answer one. Our software can do both.

Yet most routine work still waits for a person. Someone with a health question books an appointment and sits in a waiting room to ask it. A resident of an apartment block gets a paper bill and no way to see why the total went up. Each month, a company director finds out on the 24th whether the tax filings due on the 25th are ready. Sometimes they are not, and the fines follow.

So we count. For every process we write down how many times a person has to touch it before it is done. Then we make that number smaller.

A few touches stay human on purpose. The answer to a patient comes from a medical professional. When our AI agent proposes a correction to a ledger, a person approves it before it is made. A director still signs the annual financial statements. The rest is work we are moving to software.

Every industry has a counting board. We intend to sit down at each one.

Probon is an AI-first management and invoicing service for homeowners’ associations in Moldova, covering apartment blocks, condominiums, parking lots, garage complexes and commercial spaces.

  • Each resident gets one itemised invoice a month and pays it by card, in a bank app or at a post office or bank counter. The payment is matched to the invoice and recorded automatically.
  • Residents can ask an AI assistant on Telegram about their bill at any hour, in Romanian, Russian or English, and receive the invoice PDF in the chat after typing their client ID.
  • Staff record payments and reconcile accounts by talking to an AI agent, which previews each change before applying it and can reverse it later.

Calculemus is an AI-first company based in Chișinău, Moldova. Its products are designed to need fewer and fewer human steps. It built x.doctor, Probon and Saldo. The name is Latin for “let us calculate”.

What does “zero human touch” mean?

Zero human touch means a routine process runs from start to finish without a person stepping in. None of our products is there yet, and we remove human touches from each product with every new release. Steps that must come from a person, such as a medical professional’s answer or a director’s signature, stay human.

Which products has Calculemus built?

Calculemus has built three products. x.doctor is an app for talking through your own health question with a medical professional you choose. Probon runs invoicing and payments for homeowners’ associations in Moldova. Saldo is an AI-first accounting firm for Moldovan companies.

Does AI answer health questions on x.doctor?

No. The answer to a health question on x.doctor always comes from a human medical professional. Until the professional joins, an AI assistant can handle what surrounds the conversation, such as quoting their price and letting them know you are waiting.
